AME Companion Program Toronto 2008

Monday, Oct. 20

Join us today and each morning for breakfast at 8:00 a.m. in our own hospitality room. We will have door prizes each day before we go out to enjoy the sights and sounds of Toronto. This is a great chance to renew old acquaintances and meet new friends.

Tuesday, Oct. 21 Bus Tour of Toronto

The tour will start with a visit to Casa Loma a “medieval” castle on the brow of a hill overlooking Toronto; sight seeing of the mansions of Forest Hill, other areas of interest and the Harbour Front. We will enjoy lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory and then a tour of old Town Toronto and then on to the Historic Distillery District which embraces the site’s rich historical and architectural legacy and the pedestrian-only village of art galleries, museums and boutiques. We will end this wonderful day at Soma Chocolate Factory for a chocolate tasting experience!

Cost per person: $25 (AME is subsidizing this event) Maximum 50 participants

Wednesday, Oct. 22 “T” Day 

Start the morning by painting your own tea cup which will be fired and sent to your home after the conference followed by a High Tea at the hotel. During lunch, for those wishing to take a look into the future, have your “Tea Leaves” read (for entertainment purposes only)! After lunch we will head to the Royal Alexandra Theater for the matinee of “Dirty Dancing” a timeless story of first love, classic songs and pure dance energy.

Thursday, Oct. 23 Niagara Falls Day

We will go by coach to the magnificent Canadian Falls with stops for walking and picture taking in the Niagara Area.  After lunch, we will leave the Falls and head to the beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake.  You will experience the fine countryside of our vast and beautiful Niagara wine region with a special tour of a local winery. 

Niagara-on-the-Lake, where you will always find delightful, unexpected treasures in many quality retail establishments. From everyday needs to those once-in-a-lifetime special gifts, the merchants of Niagara-on-the-Lake are sure to please. We will allow plenty of time to browse in the shops of the Heritage District, a shopping environment like no other!
