Value Stream: VS1 - Fundamentals of Lean
Day & Time: Thursday, Oct 18, 2012 - 11:00 AM
Length: 1 hour, 10 minutes
Many companies could benefit from change, but the digital revolution has made change a necessity for the printing industry. As a commercial printer in suburban Chicago, RT Digital realized several years ago that it had to become more efficient. To drive that efficiency and remove waste, the company 1) reorganized around two primary value streams of digital and offset print and 2) brought office and production personnel closer together near the production floor. These were significant changes. And though change isn't always easy, RT Digital has seen great improvement as a result of adapting to these changing times. During this presentation you will hear how the company managed this transformation and how it has developed a culture of continuous improvement.
In this presentation:
- Hear about the challenges faced by the printing industry.
- Find out how RT Digital adapted to the new digital age.
- Hear about the options available to companies facing change.
- Learn how lean can be put to work in any industry.
- Make change work for your business.
