Many companies could benefit from change, but the digital revolution has made change a necessity for the printing industry. As a commercial printer in suburban Chicago, RT Digital realized several years ago that it had to become more efficient. To drive that efficiency and remove waste, the company 1) reorganized around two primary value streams of digital and offset print and 2) brought office and production personnel closer together near the production floor. These were significant changes. And though change isn't always easy, RT Digital has seen great improvement as a result of adapting to these changing times. RT Digital Solutions

RT Digital Solutions is a commercial printer with digital and offset printing capabilities. The company transformed itself from a typesetter to a prepress shop to a printing manufacturer to stay relevant to its customers. RT Digital has been on its lean journey for four years now and has achieved amazing results. It attributes this financial health to lean.

Katarina Pantelic-Orb

Katarina Pantelic-Orb is the director of marketing and lean implementation for RT Digital Solutions. She holds a certificate of completion in lean six sigma black belt and has completed the lean office certification from the University of Michigan. She has been a speaker at the Asia Print Conference in Bejing, China, and this year at the Continues Improvement Conference for Printing Industries of America. Katarina holds a BA in psychology and a master's degree from Northwestern University.
